Why Use Exoracing Stainless Steel Cable Ties?
Plastic cable ties are useful around the workshop, but they are not suitable for high-heat areas near exhausts, turbochargers, manifolds or heat shielding. Heat can soften plastic ties, causing them to loosen, snap or melt.
Exoracing stainless steel cable ties are made from 304 stainless steel so they can secure parts in hotter areas where a standard tie would not survive. They are ideal for exhaust wrap, heat sleeve, wiring protection, hoses, pipes and general high-temperature securing jobs.
The roller ball locking design helps the tie stay fastened once tightened, while the stainless construction resists heat, corrosion, abrasion and chemical exposure better than plastic alternatives.
Which Size Should I Choose?
- 4.6mm x 200mm: choose this for smaller diameter hoses, wiring, heat sleeve and compact jobs.
- 4.6mm x 300mm: choose this for larger hoses, wider heat sleeve, exhaust wrap and general high-heat securing.
- 8mm x 300mm: choose this where you want a wider, stronger tie with more surface area for larger wraps or heavier-duty securing.
If you are unsure, measure around the part you are securing and choose the closest tie length up. It is better to trim excess than to choose a tie that is too short.

Installation Guide:
Installing stainless steel cable ties is simple, but care should be taken when tightening and trimming because cut stainless edges can be sharp.
- Choose a cable tie long enough to wrap fully around the part you are securing.
- Wrap the tie around the exhaust wrap, sleeve, hose, wiring or component.
- Feed the tail through the locking head.
- Pull the tail firmly until the tie is tight and secure.
- Trim the excess tail and make sure no sharp edge is left exposed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use these near exhaust heat?
Yes. These cable ties are made from 304 stainless steel and are suitable for high-temperature areas where plastic cable ties may soften, melt or fail.
Which length should I choose?
Choose 200mm for smaller jobs and 300mm for larger diameter parts, exhaust wrap or wider heat sleeve. If you are unsure, measure around the part and choose the closest size up.
Are these reusable?
They can usually be released by carefully lifting the locking ball with a small flathead screwdriver, but for best results on important installs we recommend fitting a new tie.
What are they best used for?
They are best used for exhaust wrap, heat sleeve, hoses, pipes, wiring and general high-temperature securing jobs.
Can they replace normal plastic cable ties?
Yes, where a metal tie is suitable. They are especially useful in hot or harsh areas, but plastic ties may still be better for light-duty interior or low-temperature jobs where flexibility is more important.
Notes:
- Trim excess material after fitting.
- Cut stainless steel can be sharp, so avoid leaving exposed sharp edges.
- Do not use directly on soft hoses or wiring in a way that could cut into the material.
- Check the tie remains secure after initial heat cycles on exhaust wrap or heat shielding.
- Professional installation is recommended if fitted near hot, moving or safety-critical components.
