Why use An Exoracing Turbo Compressor Nipple?

So, you've finally installed your new turbo on your project car. Everything is ready to fire up, but you realize you still need to sort your vacuum lines to your compressor housing! This is where our range of compressor housing nipples comes in handy. We've got different variations available to ensure you can finish your turbo conversion and make some boost!

When you purchase an aftermarket turbo, some will already have barbs/nipples on the compressor housing for adding your vacuum lines, which is great if it's the correct type for your build. Often, we see turbo compressor housings with straight barbs. Still, once mounted, you may have to swap over to a barb that protrudes from the housing at 90 degrees, allowing you to run your vacuum line close to the housing. 

All of our turbo compressor nipples are compatible with turbos with a 1/8th NPT thread, and we can also adapt to a barb or an04 thread, allowing you to run a PTFE braided hose as your vacuum line.

Our turbo compressor nipples are all brass, which has many benefits for this application. One of the main reasons we have chosen brass is its exceptional malleability. This means they're less brittle than steel and less prone to snapping when fitting or removing them. They'll also provide a fantastic seal with the NPT thread from correctly galling when fitted. The other main reasons to use brass for your compressor nipples are its resistance to high temperatures and corrosion resistance.

Exoracing 1/8"Npt Turbo Compressor Nipple Installation Guide:

Exoracing turbo compressor nipples are super easy to install when following our instructions. However, we always recommend a professional installation if you are not confident in any processes involved:

1. The first step is to confirm you have the correct thread type in your compressor housing and that your vacuum hose will fit onto the fittings barb (5-6mm inner diameter).
2. Start by threading your turbo compressor nipple into the compressor housing until finger-tight. 
3. Tightening up the fitting must done with care; our general recommendation for a 1/8th NPT fitting would be 2-3 full turns of the fitting after you reach finger tight. However, this is just a recommendation, and caution must be taken!
4. Connect up your vacuum hose to the turbo compressor nipple and ensure a leak-free seal has been established. 
5. Now you've successfully installed your turbo compressor nipple, remember to take some pictures and send them to us at @exoracinguk.
