Exoracing Turbo Downpipe Gasket Installation Guide:

We've put together a step-by-step guide to help you install your own turbo downpipe gasket. These are generic instructions to help you along, but some details may vary depending on what model vehicle you are working on. As always, we recommend a professional installation if you aren't 100% confident working on your car. 

1. First, we need to ensure the car is switched off and any components that could be hot have cooled down sufficiently so as not to burn ourselves. 
2. If your downpipe section of your exhaust has an o2 sensor, you'll need to remove this now. 
3. Unbolt the hardware that connects your downpipe to your turbo and the downpipe to the exhaust centre section. 
4. You can now remove your downpipe from the vehicle and check the condition of the mating flanges between the turbo and downpipe.
5. Providing no damage is found, you can go ahead and reinstall your downpipe with your new gasket. 
6. Tighten all hardware previously removed to the manufacturer's specs with a calibrated torque wrench. 
7. Reinstall your o2 sensor if applicable to your application. 
8. Run your car up to operating temperature and let it cool back down, do this 2 or 3 times.
9. Once your vehicle has cooled for the final time, you can now check all the hardware is still tightened to correct torque values. 
10. You can now enjoy your car with no exhaust leaks. Remember to take photos and tag us @exoracinguk.
