Exoracing Composite Turbo Exhaust Gasket Installation Guide:

We've put together a step-by-step guide to help you install your own turbo exhaust gasket for your Mitsubishi. If, however, you are not 100% confident doing the job, then we recommend a professional installation.

1. Ensure all components are cool to the touch and your car is secure on a ramp or axle stands.
2. Firstly, remove all oil/water lines attached to your turbo and be ready to catch any fluids that may spill out during removal.
3. Remove all hardware connecting your turbo to the downpipe and the manifold.
4. You can now remove your turbo from the car and take the opportunity to check the condition of your impeller, seals and flanges. 
5. Check the turbo flange on your manifold and downpipe to ensure they are clean and free from warping or defects. (If any are found, you must get them resurfaced by a machine shop.)
6. You can now reinstall your turbo with your new gasket, tightening all hardware removed to the manufacturer's recommended specs using a calibrated torque wrench. 
7. Reinstall your water/oil lines and anything else that was removed from your turbo. 
8. You can now run your car through a few heat cycles, and once it has cooled fully, recheck all the hardware is still tightened to the correct torque values. 
9. You can now drive your car again, knowing you will be free from exhaust leaks! Remember to take photos of your new parts and tag us at @exoracinguk on your socials.
