Why Use An Exoracing An10 Turbo Return Drain Fitting?
If you are currently doing a turbo conversion or making a catch can, etc., you would normally weld AN10 fittings for the drain, breather ports, etc., but we now have a solution which requires no welding.
The new approach is to drill a hole and tighten both nuts together, creating an incredibly fast way of creating an AN10 male port. Our Exoracing AN10 turbo drain fittings are machined from high-grade 304 stainless steel, so even if you want to weld them, you can!
Although welding remains the preferred method, this solution is highly beneficial when welding is not feasible. Furthermore, this adapter can also serve as a no-weld catch, enabling you to effortlessly create your own without needing a fabricator; all you need to own is a drill and 27mm sockets or spanners.
We also include two PTFE washers to ensure the stainless steel nuts do not bind or gall over time when tightened against any material.
Most turbo oil drains, catch cans, swirl pots, surge tanks, etc., are AN10, so this is the perfect addition or replacement for cross-threaded fittings.

Exoracing AN10 Turbo Return Drain Fitting Installation Guide:
To easily install your new Exoracing AN10 turbo drain fitting, follow our guide below. This guide has been written as if you are installing it in a sump, but if you are using it for anything else, you can skip the steps for removing and refitting the sump. If you are unsure of any steps, we recommend getting a professional to install it.
Tools Needed:
- A drill with a 25mm drill bit
- An AN spanner for the removal of the turbo drain line
- 2 x 27mm sockets with ratchet or spanners
- (optional) Sockets for the sump and sump plug bolts
Installation Guide:
- First, drain the oil from the car by removing the sump plug.
- Ensure the car is cold before removing the sump to reduce the risk of injury or burns.
- Mark the sump where you need to drill, ensuring you have a straight path from the turbo drain to remove the risk of kinks in the line.
- Remove the sump from the car and fully clean out the inside.
- Drill a 25mm hole in the centre of the mark you made previously, trying to catch as much of the swarf as possible from entering the sump.
- Before installing the fitting, make sure every bit of swarf has been removed from the sump. If you miss any, this could cause engine failure.
- Put a PTFE washer between the sump and fitting, and push the fitting through the sump with the tapered AN10 end on the outside.
- Put the second PTFE washer on the back of the fitting and install the threaded nut by hand.
- Tighten both nuts together using 2 x 27mm sockets or spanners, ensuring they are tight enough not to come loose by themselves.
- This step is optional, but if you would like to weld the nut from the inside, this would guarantee that the nut cannot come loose. (Your sump must be steel, not aluminium, and you would have to remove the PTFE washer from the inside.)
- Refit the sump to the car, refit the turbo oil drain line, and fill the engine with oil.
- Run the car through a few heat cycles and check for leaks. If there are no leaks, then you are good to go!
