Exoracing Turbo Downpipe Flange Installation Guide.

Here is a step-by-step guide to installing your Subaru turbo downpipe flange. This installation will require fabrication and welding skills; if you're unsure of your abilities, we highly recommend a professional installation.

1. Switch off your engine and ensure your car has cooled down to avoid burns.
2. Start by removing the downpipe from your car; this may also involve removing catalytic converters. 
3. Now you have access to the exhaust housing on your turbo; you can measure your new exhaust components.
4. Using a cutting disc or a pipe cutter, cut your new exhaust section to length and clean off any burrs or coating on the new section and any coating around where you will be welding on the new flange. 
5. Take the flange onto the new exhaust section; don't fully weld it up quite yet! 
6. Test fit onto your turbo to ensure you have the correct angle for clearance. 
7. Now you're happy everything is lined up correctly, you can weld the flange entirely onto the new exhaust section. 
8. Before refitting your newly fabricated exhaust section to your car, check the flange hasn't been overheated and warped, if it has, you must resurface the mating face flat. 
9. You can now bolt your new exhaust section back to the car, being sure to tighten all hardware back to the manufacturer's specs. 
10. We now recommend running your car through a few heat cycles and then checking the hardware is still tightened to the manufacturers' specs. 
11. You're all done, and can now take your car for a well-deserved drive; remember to take photos and tag us at @exoracinguk
