Mishimoto Intercooler Kit For Honda Civic Type R Fk8 17+

The 2017+ Honda Civic Type R is an animal on the track; however, Honda also had to make it appealing to commute in the car. One of the sacrifices that appeared to keep all the creature comforts in the car was an underperforming intercooler system that, whilst in heavy hot traffic or during intense driving, the OEM tube-and-fin intercooler couldn't quite keep up with the demands that the Civic needs. 

At Mishimoto, they set out to build a performance intercooler kit that would be fine putting up with the excess heat made by taking the Civic to a track. 

With a 4.7-inch thick core that boasts a 169% increase in volume, plenty of surface area is available to cool down the air moving through the intercooler. 

As well as increasing the size of the unit, changing the intercooler to a bar-and-plate design also helps with airflow throughout the core and efficiently takes the heat away from the charged air. 

With no more plastic end tanks to get brittle and fail, they have been replaced with cast aluminium tanks designed for better airflow and a longer-lasting unit. 

Not only has the intercooler been upgraded, but Mishimoto has revised all the parts that were made below a performance standard for mass production.

The charged air channels are now 2.5" mandrel bent aluminium pipes, whilst the rubber sections have been swapped for heat-resistant silicone pipes, which will help with airflow whilst ensuring no boost leaks! 

The 2017+ Type R Honda Civic Mishimoto intercooler kit has either a black or silver intercooler with wrinkle black or red pipework to match your car.

NOTES

*For proper use, the boost reference port in the cold side intercooler pipe should be plugged. 

We recommend having a fabricator weld this port closed to ensure this is done properly. Please get in contact if you have any questions about this.
