Use the outside diameter, not the circumference or inside bore. Follow the centreline through bends when measuring length.

2. Choose wrap width

A 10% fitting allowance is added for trimming and fitting. Complex bends, collectors and separate runners may need more.

Wrapping more than one pipe? Add the lengths of pipes with the same diameter. Calculate different diameters separately. Allow extra for separate start/end wraps and joins.

How the estimate works

For each spiral turn, the calculator combines pipe circumference and forward travel (wrap width minus overlap). It multiplies by the number of turns, then adds 10%. Uses the listed 2.5 cm or 5 cm wrap width. It estimates a cylindrical pipe; bends, wrap thickness, stretch and separate start/end wraps can affect actual use.
