Why Use A V-Band Clamp?
A V-band clamp is one of the cleanest ways to join two sections of performance pipework when you need the joint to be strong, compact and easy to remove. Traditional two-bolt or three-bolt flanges rely on bolts and a gasket. That can work, but on turbo and exhaust systems, it often means seized bolts, awkward access and gaskets that need replacing when the joint is disturbed.
Our self-aligning V-band kit uses a male flange and a female flange. Once the flanges are welded to your pipework, they locate into each other, and the clamp locks them together. This gives you a secure seal without needing a separate gasket, which is ideal for downpipes, removable exhaust sections, turbo setups and fabrication work where access matters.
This is especially useful on cars that are worked on regularly. If you remove a downpipe, B-pipe, turbo outlet, screamer pipe or exhaust section for servicing, track use or future changes, a V-band joint makes that job far easier than fighting rusty hardware in a tight space. Which V-Band Clamp Size Do I Need?
Match the flange bore size to the pipework size you are using. Before welding, offer the flange up to the pipe and check that the bore and pipe line up cleanly so the joint does not create a step or restriction inside the pipework.

Exoracing V-Band Clamp Installation Guide:
Although V-band clamps are simple once fitted, correct welding and alignment matter. If you are not confident fabricating stainless pipework, ask a professional fabricator to install the clamp kit.
- Choose the correct flange bore size for the pipework you are using. Offer the flange up to the pipe and check that the bore lines up cleanly.
- Make sure both pipes are stainless steel, clean, dry and free from rust, oil or other contaminants before welding.
- Weld the male V-band flange to one side of the pipework and the female V-band flange to the other side.
- Allow the welds to cool, then bring both flanges together and check that the male and female profiles locate properly.
- Place the V-band clamp over both flanges and make sure the clamp sits evenly around the full joint.
- Tighten the locking nut while checking the clamp orientation. Make sure the nut does not rub against nearby components, heat shielding, bodywork or pipework.
- After the first heat cycle, visually inspect the joint and recheck the clamp if required.
